Reviews
Lovely little gem in fitzrovia. The French toast with poached pears is to die for. Great coffee too. Was surprised at 14‰ service charge, but enjoyed our meal none the less.
Unfortunately, there was no French Toast that day, but overall experience and food were so good and delicious.
Came here for brunch with a friend on Saturday. Glad that we had booked a table beforehand because it was quite packed at 12noon. I have previously been to their other branch in Shoreditch so am quite a regular customer and am aware that different branches have different menus. My friend is vegan and she suggested we come here again because she had a great food experience last time.
I went with the lemon and raspberry french toast and a flat white and my friend ordered the avocado poke bowl and a fresh orange juice. My french toast was alright because it was quite dry with every limited amount of raspberry jam sauce around the plate and the lemon crème fraiche in the middle which wasn't sufficient to make the toast bread softer and easier to eat. The sauce was good but definitely would have appreciated a lot more of it especially with the hazelnut crumbles that absorbed a lot of the jam. Flat white was average. My friend enjoy her poke bowl and said that there could have been more rice to go with all the toppings she had. I enjoyed the food I had last two times in the Shoreditch branch so was quite disappointed with the experience this time.
Service wise, staff were all very friendly, smiley and attentive. Vibe wise it was cost and chill. But the table was very small to fit in two plates, two cups and a bottle of tap water. They really need to do something about it because the space is tight and people were so loud so it was really hard to talk freely when we were there. Not sure if I would come back soon in the near future as it's also quite a pricey brunch place compared to other cafés around East London.
The food was okay and the staff was nice but we found the 14% service charge a bit steep for the experience.
Amazing food and lovely staff. Both our breakfasts were fantastic, and the decaf cappuccino was the best we've ever had.
I used to come to this restaurant, the french toast with hazelnut was not tasty & smaller than the previous menus & the old menus was better
And i was surprised with the receipt ( they add service fees and donation without asking or notifying me !! )
Had a nice time at Lantana Cafe, but not sure it’ll be my go-to spot.
The food was good - every dish tasted fresh and the portions were generous …
Brunch was so tasty - staff were lovely! Unfortunately the proprietors have chosen to cram people in elbow-to-elbow with the next table. If you go as a party of two you’ll have someone next to you, so close a private chat is impossible. So uncomfortable.
